How to get a Healthy Glow!

During the month of March, we focus on a new trend from Korea, Healthy Glow! By Healthy Glow is meant a luster that can differ from person to person, depending on the individual conditions of that person's skin. You do not strive for perfection or unhealthy ideals, but work with what you have. Healthy Glow also means that you focus on other elements than just skin care and how it in turn affects how we feel and how our skin feels. In this blog post, we thought we would dive a little deeper into Healthy Glow and how different skin types can work with their luster, as well as what else you can think of to make your mind, body and skin feel as good as possible.

Healthy Glow for different skin types

Normal hy

Normal skin does not feel oily or dry, but is perceived as well-balanced and supple. The skin is perceived as smooth and soft and the pores are neither enlarged nor reduced. A normal skin type has a balanced sebum production and a normal moisture balance and has no problems with visible rashes or sensitivity. A Normal Skin has good conditions for a natural glow and can use most things. However, we would recommend focusing on nutrition and moisture to maintain the high moisture content and thus get a healthy skin full of glow!

Products that can fit are partly a serum with vitamin c such as Pure Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum from By Wishtrend. This serum contains 21.5% pure vitamin C, which works for a more even skin tone, gives lots of radiance and increases the elasticity and firmness of the skin. To give the skin proper moisture, a moisturizing toner is a great alternative to add to your skin care routine and then we want to recommend Hyal Reyouth Toner from Dr. Ceuracle. This toner contains as many as six different hyaluronic acids that sink easily into the skin and quickly restore the skin's natural moisture barrier after washing by the different types of hyaluronic acid penetrating each layer of skin. Pro vitamins B5 and B3 shape and strengthen the skin's moisture barrier and ensure that the skin stays hydrated for a long time. It also contains Fructan (a type of fructose) which promotes the reproduction of skin cells and strengthens the elasticity of the skin. Another tip is the classic serum Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule from Dr. Ceuracle which contains 33% pure propolis which is naturally repairing and nourishes dull and tired skin as well as bee queen jelly extract protects the skin from free radicals and plumps the skin from within.

Blandhy

A mixed and combination skin is characterized by having both oily and dry areas on the face. The T-zone, ie forehead, nose and chin on a mixed skin type, is usually perceived as a little more oily with slightly larger pores, while cheeks and jaw areas go more towards a dry or normal skin type.

Tips for a mixed skin is to spot treat the different areas with products adapted to the skin's needs. For example, a combination skin may need two different face masks or serums with different properties to achieve the best result. A combination skin that wants to achieve a Healthy Glow can, for example, use a product that balances sebum production in the t-zone, such as 5a Control Clearing Serum in Emulsion from Dr. Ceuracle, to then use a moisturizing and lustrous product on the rest of the face where you need extra nourishment and moisturizing such as Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule from Dr. Ceuracle. One ingredient to look for may be niacinamide which is a good ingredient for those who have oily skin and work to balance sebum production. Niacinamide is found in the favorite Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask from Klairs which also gives a nice glow and can be used both as a night mask, primer or with a slightly thinner layer as a day cream.

Dry and sensitive skin

A dry skin can feel tight and scaly on the skin surface and often has very small pores. This skin type has a lack of moisture and fat, this is due to a low sebum production. Dry skin can often be a little extra sensitive and react to dry air and cold as well as strong and active skin care products.

Sensitive skin often becomes red and irritated and can feel tight and stinging. A common feature is superficial and easily dilated blood vessels. This skin type reacts very easily to cold, heat and dry air and needs very gentle products to soothe and strengthen the irritated skin.

A dry and sensitive skin wants to focus on kind products that work nourishing and that strengthen the skin barrier and provide lots of moisture. Here we want to recommend the serum Watery Oil Drop from Klairs which is a water-based serum with as high a moisturizing ability as a face oil. It contains, among other things, ceramides, camellia sinensis (green tea), peptides and fermented ingredients. These ingredients contain lots of antioxidants and rejuvenating properties that give your skin radiance with just a few drops. Also try warming up a few drops between the palms and then pat over the applied make-up for an extra glow and moisture boost.

An ingredient that is also good to look for is ceramides that strengthen the skin barrier but also protects and soothes sensitive skin. Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream from COSRX consists of three types of ceramides and Centella Asiatica which restores the balance between oil and moisture and improves the skin's elasticity. It has a soft and matte conditioner-like texture that reduces dry, mottled and itchy skin. Tip is to try applying an extra thick layer as a night mask, let it sink in a bit before you go to bed and then wake up with a saturated and moisturized complexion!

Oily and acne-prone skin

Oily skin feels shiny and oily with enlarged pores, this is because the skin has an overproduction of fat in the skin's sebaceous glands. Due to a high sebum production, the skin can more easily get clots such as acne, pimples and blackheads. Oily skin needs balancing and gentle skin care products as well as a deep cleansing but moisturizing facial cleanser to get rid of excess sebum. A common mistake is that with oily and oily skin you are afraid to moisturize the skin, but if you dry out the skin, the skin in defense will produce more sebum. It is therefore important to find products that still moisturize with light textures, without drying out! For a Healthy Glow, we want to recommend two serums, both from By Wishtrend. Polyphenol in Propolis 15% Ampoule is formulated to fight and prevent acne and blemishes by moisturizing and balancing the oil level in the skin. It contains propolis but also witch hazel which helps to soothe oily skin and Zinc PCA which helps to control sebum production in the skin. The new Hydra Enriched Ampoule can also be suitable as it provides long-lasting hydration without clogging. For a Healthy Glow, it is also important for oily and acne-prone skin to find a moisturizing cream that fits. Here we want to recommend the AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer from COSRX. A soothing moisturizer specially formulated to soothe acne prone skin. COSRX has developed its own unique Centella complex with the name CentellAC-RX formula as with e.g. Centella that not only treats acne but also heals the damage that has already been done to the skin. This special formula allows the skin to return to its original, healthy state by, among other things. control sebum production and balance the skin's natural pH level. It is completely free of oil and gives a moisturized, light and non-sticky finish. It soothes heat-sensitive skin and gives a nice, cooling effect on e.g. acne-inflamed or tanned skin.

Mature skin

A mature skin can e.g. be low in moisture, experience fine lines and / or pigment spots. To treat and prevent dryness and in turn also dry lines, you need to add a lot of moisture and fat to the skin and at the same time work with repairing and caring products to get the elasticity in the skin again. Pigment spots or uneven skin tone can be due to, for example, sun exposure, hormonal changes or scars. Pigment spots are a change in skin tone and can occur as spots, blemishes or darker areas on the skin. For a Healthy Glow for mature skin, we would like to recommend investing in highly moisturizing products, but also products that contain vitamin C, propolis and peptides.

Pure Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum
from By Wishtrend contains 21.5% pure vitamin C, which works for a smoother skin tone, gives lots of radiance and increases the elasticity and firmness of the skin. Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule from Dr. Ceuracle which contains 33% pure propolis which is naturally repairing and nourishes dull and tired skin as well as bee queen jelly extract protects the skin from free radicals and plumps the skin from within. It also contains sea buckthorn extract which revives and brightens pigment spots. If you are eager to test a product with peptides, we want to recommend Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drops from Klairs! This serum reduces and prevents fine lines and wrinkles in a revolutionary way. It contains, among other things, two types of peptides that work both deep and on the surface to prevent and prevent wrinkles and maintain the skin's elasticity. These peptides are found naturally in the surface of the skin and have the task of renewing the skin, however, the body's own production of peptides decreases at the age of 20. By applying them via their skin care, you help the skin to maintain its elasticity and prevent the appearance of wrinkles. The first peptide is bFGF (eH Polypeptide) which works in the deeper part of the skin and prevents the deep wrinkles that usually start to appear at the age of 30. The other peptide is EGF (rH Oligopeptide) and it works to prevent fine lines on the skin's surface and to maintain the skin's elasticity.

What else affects your Healthy Glow?

Sleep

The importance of sleep and what it does to the skin may feel exhausted, but can be tolerated to be mentioned again. During the night when we sleep, the body recovers, cell renewal begins and the body removes toxins and processes nutrients we have received during the day. If we do not get enough sleep, the body will not have time for everything above which ultimately affects the hormonal balance in the body. As a result, the skin may be affected and dryness or problems such as acne or other skin irritation may occur. Here it is also important to change pillowcases often as a lot of bacteria accumulate there. Too little sleep can also affect the aging of the skin and you can feel dull or get dark circles under the eyes.

Water

Water you have probably heard is good for the skin as well, but why? Well, water helps to transport, among other things, carbohydrates, salts and proteins, which in turn counteracts dullness and gives better luster. A good tip is to take the opportunity to drink a large glass of water in the morning when you wake up, as the body often thirsts for water after several hours of sleep.

Facial massage

We like to take the opportunity to do a wonderful facial massage when we massage in our oil cleanser or serum, either with our hands or with a Gua Sha or a Roller. For us, mainly facial massage is a nice moment where you can take a few deep breaths, but it also has several benefits for the skin. The massage increases blood circulation, which in turn promotes cell renewal and thus works on radiance such as fine lines. Facial massage is also said to promote lymphatic drainage which cleanses waste in the skin and keeps it healthy and clean.

Kind thoughts

We have no scientific evidence for this point, but we still think that our skin feels extra good when we think kind thoughts about ourselves. Above all, it is probably about how we relate to what we see in the mirror. The fins that appeared from nowhere, the signs of fatigue after a night with a few hours of sleep, the pores that we suddenly think feel extra large. At least thinking about what you do not like about your skin does not make us happy, so we focus on what we actually like that day, think extra kind thoughts and do a slightly longer, wonderful facial massage.

Peace and quiet

When we stress, a chemical reaction is formed in the body which results in a surcharge of cortisol. Stress from time to time is no danger, but constant stress and a constant supply of stress hormones such as cortisol, can lead to inflammatory processes in the skin that can lead to a disturbed balance, acne, more reactive and more sensitive skin.

A little calm or above all balance does good for the skin, and to promote balance and thus the skin, the next point is good.

Movement

Exercise increases blood circulation, which in turn increases the supply of nutrients to the skin, which in turn has a positive effect on the production of collagen. Collagen is what gives the skin its elasticity and can make the skin feel plump and rosy.

As blood circulation increases, the cells can also absorb more oxygen, which makes it easier for the body to take care of, for example, harmful stress hormones. The result is less stress and better sleep. Exercise also releases certain substances in the brain that counteract depression and you will be happier immediately!

Of course, you do not get everything above together and then a good sheet mask, a hot bath and a wonderful series can do wonders for the skin as well! We hope you will enjoy everything about Healthy Glow that we will do in the coming month and that after Mars, despite everything that is happening around us and in the world, we have found our little tools for a short break in everyday life. Good for both body, mind and our glow!
